Write a 700- to 1,050-word paper that addresses ethics in health care. Provide 1 to 2 references other than the text for your paper.
Address each bullet point below in 100 to 200 words. Each bullet point must have its own heading in your paper.
- Write an introduction to your ethics compliance plan explaining why it is important to have a code of ethics.
Explain the importance of the American Medical Association’s Principles of Medical Ethics, found on p. 258 of the text. (Go to the AMA Web site, www.ama-assn.org, and search for “Principles of Medical Ethics.”)
- Summarize the three forms of advance directives. Which office policies might you develop regarding the implementation of advance directives?
- What process could you use to ensure that all employees know the ethical standards?
- Present a situation in which the code of ethics of a medical professional is tested. Describe the situation and the possible consequences for the medical professional if they violate the office code of ethics.
