photosynthesis lab, Scientific Method Virtual Lab help
ALL LABS REQUIRE A COMPLETE AND PROPERLY FORMATTED LAB REPORT; ANY ASSIGNMENT THAT DOES NOT HAVE A LAB REPORT WILL BE GIVEN A FAILING GRADE. A SAMPLE REPORT FORMAT CAN BE FOUND ON THE LINK BELOW.

Your Assignment Title: Unit 1: The Scientific Method Virtual Lab |
The Photosynthesis Lab
Photosynthesis is the process in which plants use light energy, water, and carbon dioxide to produce food. Plants use the food they make for growth and for carrying out other life processes. Sunlight is the natural energy source for photosynthesis. White light from the sun is a mixture of all colors of the light spectrum: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. Light can be either absorbed or reflected by substances called pigments. Most plants are green because the pigment chlorophyll reflects green and yellow light and absorbs the other colors of the spectrum. In this Virtual Lab you will perform an experiment to investigate what colors of the light spectrum cause the most plant growth. You will calculate the plant growth by measuring the height of each plant under different colors of light. You will compare these measurements and interpret a graph to determine which colors of the spectrum cause the most plant growth.
Lab Objectives:
Carry out an experiment to determine which colors of the light spectrum are used in photosynthesis as evidenced by plant growth.
Measure plant growth under lights of different colors of the spectrum.

Key Points To Remember |
1. Unless you are asked for a list, ALL answers to the questions should be written in complete sentences, utilizing proper lesson vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation. |
2. If you are asked to draw any images for an assignment, pictures from the internet will not be accepted as a substitute. |
3. If you have to complete a virtual lab, all labs require a complete and properly formatted lab report. A link to a sample report can be found in the lesson folder; a second report outline is also located on the lab assignment page. |
YOU WILL RECEIVE A SCORE REDUCTION IF ANY OF THE ABOVE COMPONENTS ARE REQUIRED AND YOU DO NOT MEET THOSE REQUIREMENTS. |
