As a nursing educator, I need NLN competency to promote my career by advancing my role as a specialist in academic nursing educator.These competencies dictate the area of speciality that enables me to portray my faculty richness as a nursing educator comprehensively. Some of the skills that are applicable in my profession include;

1.Facilitate learning: As a nursing educator, it is my responsibility to establish the environment in lecture rooms, laboratory and hospital setting that promotes the teaching of students. This will enable students to realize their cognitive, affective and psychomotor results effectively (Gaberson, &Oermann, 2016).

2.Development and socialization of learning: It is my role as a nursing educator to help my students develop their interest in nursing and appreciate the value and behaviours expected of them to become a successful nurse.

3.Evaluation and assessment strategy: It is my responsibility as a nursing educator to apply various strategies in accessing and evaluating my students’ learning in a different learning environment (Finke, 2015).

4.Designing and evaluating curriculum program outcomes: As a nursing educator, it is my role to participate in formulating curriculum programs that impact on contemporary health issues. This will prepare my students to practice in the health care units effectively.

5.Participating as a leader and agent of change: As a nursing urgent, I will function as an agent of change and a leader to establish a stable future for my students.

6.Enhancing the quality of nursing education:This is one of the crucial roles for a nursing educator. I will develop a decent quality that fosters into a multidimensional commitment to developing nursing students.

7.Engaging in scholarship: It is crucial to appreciate the role of learning in the nursing faculty and thus, the scholarship is considered to be an integral part of nursing education.

As a nurse educator, my profession entails activities that are applicable in the educational environment by providing my students with the most current and updated information that will enable them to appreciate the importance of collaborative approaches. It is crucial to furnish my students with skills such as human health, integrating injuries and all information perceived to be important for clinical practice throughout my teaching term as this will impact on the practical skills. One of my emphasis as a nursing educator is the importance of diagnosis and interventions in determining the patients’ condition. This will enable my students to envision on the clients’ needs for proper health care and acknowledging their specific cases. I also learned how to provide parental care to unrelated children. Thus, as an educator, I will help my student to utilize this skill in critical thinking and making decisions which are very crucial in their profession as nurses.A nursing educator will need to possess knowledge of nursing competency while performing their professional tasks. I will impact on my students’ ability by combining both the aspects of biology and psychology as one way of restoring and maintaining the health of their clients.
