help revising my paper please

If someone can help me revise my paper please that be good. The question for the paper was Provide a written character sketch of Phoenix. What do readers know about her? What are her dominant traits? What is the significance of her name in relation to her character?

In Eudora Welty: “A Worn Path” there is this character named Phoenix. By the title you can tell the Phoenix walks down the path many times. That could mean ether good or bad.Phoenix Jackson is the main character that is a caring devoted lady. She has a very difficult times in her life and its hard for people to understand. She is not who we think she would be before reading this story. She is a lot different then anyone else in the “A Worn Path.”

“Far out in the country there was an old Negro woman with her head tied in a red rag, coming along a path through the pinewoods” and her name was Phoenix Jackson. Phoenix Jackson symbolizes the life that was in the hardship and death. In “A Worn Path” it said that “She was a very old and small and she walked slowly in the dark pine shadows, moving a little from side by side in her steps, with the balanced heaviness and lightness of a pendulum in a grandfather clock” (Welty 772).She is facing all the hardship that she has and takes medicine for the pain of her grandson. Eudora Welty get the reader thinking of these hardships like the physical health and the mental health that is happening. Since Phoenix Jackson is older she can’t tie her own shoes so she stops someone that is on the street to tie them for her. She has to use “Cane made from an umbrella,…”(772).Phoenix goes threw the forest alone and it very dangerous and since she is very old she shouldn’t be doing that.

When it comes to Phoenix going down the path of the bottom of the hill “A bush caught her dress” (Welty 773). She kept getting her dress caught in bush after bush. When reading this to this point we all can picture that it’s mot going to end well and her dress will be ripped until we read on.After a while she thought “it was not possible for the dress to tear” (773). It was a miracle that happened to Phoenix Jackson. In the end “Phoenix was like and old women begging a signified forgiveness for walking up frightened in the night” (777). She was a old women with out any education at all. She thought that she was failing and failing her grandson to. In a way I think she could of change that with her grandson because he could have a education

All in all, Phoenix Jackson is a great character in “A Worn Path”. She is old but she was great. She did stuff like going in the forest that she shouldn’t have be it was so dangerous. She couldn’t tie her shoes and I felt maybe if she tried she could have. She almost ripped her dress and she was failing her grandson just like she got failed. Phoenix was a great person in end though.
