“Descriptive Research is as it sounds that are made to descriptive the situation of the research topic. “It is used to obtain information concerning the currently status of the phenomena to describe what exist with respect to variables or conditions in a situation. The methods involved range from the survey which describe the status quo, the correlation study which investigates the relationship between variables to developmental studies which seek to determine changes over time” ( Key. J.). an open ended question would be what kinds of things go through your mind when you are hitting your child? A closed ended question would be did you feel anything when you heard you child crying for you to not hit them?

 Exploratory Research “is research conducted for a problem that has not been clearly defined. It often occurs before we know enough to make conceptual distinctions or posit an explanatory relationship. Exploratory research helps determine the best research design data collection method” (Vaus). An open ended question would be what goes through an individual’s mind when they kill there children? A closed ended question would be did you feel an urge when you killed you child or was it just something that happened?

Explanatory Research is used to conduct a issue “ it often occurs before we know enough to make conceptual distinctions or posit an explanatory relationship” ( Vaes).”
