5.  Three species A, B and C are found on an island.  When C is artificially removed the niche of A expands, but that of B does not show any significant differences.  If C is replaced and B is removed both A and C show some niche expansion, although that shown by A is larger than that shown by C.

a.  What can you conclude about the interactions between species A B and C on the island?  (Explain your reasoning)

b.  A new species, D, is added to the island and Species C shows a strong tendancy to now eat larger seeds entire curve has moved toward the right for size of seed selected.  What is the correct term for the change observed here?
